Pankaj Tripathi's Oh My Dog, R Madhavan's GDN (a biopic of inventor GD Naidu), Lokesh Kanagaraj's DC The Bloody Valentine with Vamika Gabbi, Aryabhatt Ka Zero and Hanuman Ansh all release on August 7 — making it one of the most crowded single-day release slates of the year.

The month's most anticipated head-to-head confrontation arrives on August 14. Awarapan 2 — Emraan Hashmi returning alongside Disha Patani, directed by Nitin Kakkar — goes directly up against Batwara 1947, the Partition-era patriotic drama starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, on Independence Day eve.
