July surge
July turned out to be a strong month for India’s passenger vehicle market, with more than 4.63 lakh vehicles sold across the country. The seven-seater battle was particularly intense, as SUVs and MPVs fought for family buyers looking for more space, practicality and road presence.

Ertiga rules
The Maruti Ertiga emerged as the clear leader among these five models, selling 21,606 units in July. That was a sharp 30.1% jump from 16,604 units a year earlier, helping the ₹8.90-lakh people mover command a 23.8% market share.

Scorpio charges
The Mahindra Scorpio grabbed second place with 16,009 units sold in July, up 16.5% from 13,747 units in the same month last year. With a starting price of ₹13.37 lakh, the rugged SUV secured a sizeable 17.6% market share.

Innova climbs
Starting at ₹19.72 lakh, the Toyota Innova and Hycross continued to attract buyers despite their premium positioning. Combined July sales reached 9,976 units, up 9.4% from 9,119 units a year earlier. The Innova range commanded an 11% market share, keeping it firmly among India’s best-selling seven-seaters.

Bolero jumps
The Mahindra Bolero delivered one of the biggest surprises on the list. July sales reached 9,336 units, compared with 7,513 units a year earlier—a 24.3% increase. With a starting price of ₹8.49 lakh and a 10.3% market share, the veteran utility vehicle remains a strong contender.

XUV rises
The Mahindra XUV 7XO rounds out the five-car list with 8,233 units sold in July, up 16.7% from 7,054 units in the corresponding month last year. With a starting price of ₹13.99 lakh and a 9.1% market share, it underlines just how fiercely contested India’s seven-seater segment has become.
