GTA 6 will be released on 19 November, and with pre-orders now open, this date seems all but certain. But it was delayed twice previously, from autumn 2025 and May 2026.

In a statement when the second delay was announced, Rockstar said it needed extra months to finish the game with the level of polish fans had come to "expect and deserve."

The sixth game in the main series will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two have still not revealed its price — some analysts estimate it could be the first game priced at $100 (£76).

GTA 6 is set in a fictional US state called Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida. Fans will be excited to hear that Vice City, inspired by Miami, will return as the main city within the state.
