Samsung's Galaxy Glasses are almost here. A leaked companion app has revealed the full feature set ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London — and what it shows makes these the most ambitious AI wearable Samsung has ever attempted.

SammyGuru managed to install the Galaxy Glasses companion app before launch. The app's home screen shows paired glasses at the top with a battery indicator. It also offers auto photo-import, a software update hub, and toggles for key features — all from one place. (Credit: Android Headlines)

The app lists four headline features: AI assistants (powered by Gemini), Read notifications aloud, Find My Glasses (similar to Find My Device), and Advanced features. A 12MP camera captures photos and videos directly from the frame — all without touching your phone.

The most surprising leak: Galaxy Ring owners may be able to control the Galaxy Glasses using finger gestures. Code strings inside the app point to a "receiver component" for Ring-based gesture controls. A Galaxy Watch controller app for the glasses is also in the works.

Galaxy Glasses run One UI XR — the same platform powering Samsung's Galaxy XR headset. Built on Android XR, developed jointly by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm, the platform means the glasses connect deeply into Google Maps, Search, Translate, and all Android apps via Gemini AI.

Meta Ray-Ban glasses currently lead the AI glasses market at $299. Samsung's Galaxy Glasses are expected to cost $379–$499 — higher, but with deeper Android integration via Gemini. Neither has a display. Samsung's advantage is that Gemini lives natively inside your Galaxy phone.

Galaxy Unpacked is July 22 in London — Samsung's first Unpacked outside Korea or the US. Alongside the Galaxy Glasses, expect the Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. A display-equipped version of the Galaxy Glasses is already planned for 2027. Apple's AI glasses? Rumoured for 2027 too.
