Waiting for a new i20 or a CNG automatic Baleno? Four hatchback updates Indian family-car buyers should not confuse with launches

“Four hatchbacks launching soon” is not an accurate description
The four products sit at very different stages. A Toyota Glanza update is reported for October 2026; the fourth-generation i20 has debuted only in Brazil; a new i10 is part of Hyundai’s longer product plan; and Maruti does not currently list a Baleno CNG automatic. Buyers should not assume four imminent showroom launches.

Toyota has not officially announced the October 14 Glanza facelift
Media invitations have prompted reports of an October 14 Glanza unveiling, but Toyota had not issued a public model announcement by September 15. ADAS, ventilated seats, a new three-cylinder engine and revised prices are expected—not confirmed. Toyota’s current page still shows the existing 1.2-litre four-cylinder model.

The new i20 is real, but its India launch is not confirmed
Hyundai’s fourth-generation i20 has debuted in Brazil on the K3 platform. Brazil-spec highlights include a 346-litre boot, six airbags and dual-screen options, but its engines and equipment are market-specific. Hyundai has not announced an Indian launch, so a 2027 arrival and India features remain expectations.

A new i10 is planned, but the feature list is speculative

Claims about a sunroof, ventilated seats, a larger touchscreen, a new platform or CNG automatic have not been detailed in an official model announcement. The updated Baleno is on sale, but its CNG variants are manual
Maruti’s current Baleno page lists Delta CNG MT and Zeta CNG MT. Petrol versions get manual or AMT choices, but no CNG AMT variant appears in the official range as of September 15. A future CNG automatic has been reported, yet its launch date, price and certified mileage remain unannounced.
