Your train may run but from another station: Five BRICS-related railway changes Delhi passengers must know

Northern Railway’s three-day plan affects around 120 services through the Delhi Division, including local trains and premium long-distance services. “Affected” does not mean every train is cancelled: the list includes cancellations, diversions, short originations, short terminations, rescheduling, regulation and terminal changes.

Five listed EMU services are cancelled on September 11, while eight trains are diverted, including Rajdhani services to Ranchi, Dibrugarh, Sealdah, Howrah and Bhubaneswar. Train 12724 to Hyderabad and train 12616 Grand Trunk Express to Chennai are each rescheduled by 120 minutes from New Delhi.

The September 12 plan lists 13 cancellations—some already cancelled for separate railway work—and 13 diversions. Train 22415 Banaras–New Delhi Vande Bharat is regulated by 35 minutes over NCR, while several Rajdhani, Amrit Bharat and long-distance departures have revised start times.

Eight services appear in the September 13 cancellation table, alongside seven diversions and multiple short terminations or originations. Some passengers may need to board at Ghaziabad, Shakurbasti or Delhi Shahdara instead of the usual Delhi terminal, making the station field as important as the departure time.

Operational changes are tied to a specific train number and journey-commencement date, and linked rake changes can affect another service. Before leaving home, enter the exact train number in NTES or call 139, then verify departure station, date and revised timing on the live status page.
