Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma on Friday accused Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials of asking for Rs 5 lakh bribe for constructing his office. The former host of Comedy Nights with Kapil tweeted that he paid Rs 15 crore in tax.

While it may surprise many, Kapil was one of the highest paid Indian celebrities on Forbes annual list last year. According to media reports Kapil earns around Rs 60-80 lakh for each episode of The Kapil Sharma Show

Apart from hosting his TV show, Sharma has a number of brand endorsement deals in his kitty. He also appears in films every now and then.

When Sharma left Colors to work with Sony, the comedian received a big paycheck. The comedian takes home around Rs 5 crore per month for hosting his show, media reports said.
