Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 60 per cent of India's population. Gross Value Added by agriculture, forestry and fishing is estimated at Rs 18.53 lakh crore. Given its importance, the focus of the government as well as the private sector is on increasing funding, spreading insurance coverage and using tech solutions.
