Many people of my generation, including myself, grew up with the dream of a strong, capable and self-respecting India. We envisioned a nation advancing rapidly on the path of development, one whose voice would be heard attentively across the world and, most importantly, one whose people would place immense trust in its leadership.

However, for most of our lives, we had to compromise with that dream. We are fortunate that today we are witnessing that dream come true before our eyes. This has been made possible through the tireless efforts, courageous leadership and unwavering commitment to Antyodaya demonstrated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi over the past 12 years. Today, India is strong, capable and self-confident.

The statistics themselves tell the story of India's success under Modi ji's leadership. Four crore permanent houses have been built under the PM Awas Yojana; 81 crore people receive free monthly food grains; 60 crore people have access to free medical treatment under Ayushman Bharat; and collateral-free Mudra loans worth Rs 40 lakh crore have been extended. Only a visionary dedicated to the welfare of the last person in society could accomplish this.

Consider that during the first seven decades after Independence, only 3.2 crore households had access to tap water. Today, that figure has increased more than fourfold to 16 crore households. Until 2014, only five cities in India had metro rail connectivity; now the number has increased to 26. The metro rail network has expanded from 248 kilometres to 1,155 kilometres.

Today, India is providing leadership to the world across sectors. Fifty-six percent of the world's digital transactions take place in India alone. A country that once depended on foreign nations for its defence requirements is now reaching new heights in defence production and exports. From space exploration to artificial intelligence, and from startups to semiconductor manufacturing, India is writing new chapters of self-reliance.

Fulfilling his commitment to women's empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modiji granted permanent commission to women in the armed forces. During Operation Sindoor, this very women power proved decisive against the enemy nation. Once affected by externally sponsored terrorism as well as Naxal violence within its borders, India today has not only brought Naxal violence under decisive control but also possesses the courage to strike terrorist infrastructure across the border. This is a new India — one that seeks peace but also knows how to ensure its security.

The national vision of a developed India taking shape under Prime Minister Modi's leadership is visible in every state. Uttarakhand stands as a strong example of this transformation. For the people of Devbhoomi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure deserves to be written in golden letters. His reverence and affection for Uttarakhand are evident to all. As a result, development projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore are currently underway in the state with support from the central government. Over the past four years, unprecedented progress has been made in road, rail and air connectivity, tourism, healthcare, religious rejuvenation and industrial development

The Char Dham All Weather Road Project, being developed at a cost of Rs 11,700 crore, is progressing rapidly. The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, built at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore, has significantly reduced both travel time and distance. Travel between Delhi and Dehradun can now be completed in two-and-a-half hours. Work is also underway on important projects such as Sitarganj-Tanakpur, Paonta Sahib-Dehradun, Bhaniyawala-Rishikesh, the Kathgodam-Lalkuan-Haldwani Bypass and the Rudrapur Bypass.

Rail connectivity in the state's remote mountainous regions was once only a dream. Today, the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project is moving steadily towards completion. The central government has also approved the Rs 48,000 crore Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line project. Eleven railway stations in the state are being modernised under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Significant achievements have also been recorded in air connectivity. The Jolly Grant, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh airports have been expanded. Under the UDAN scheme, 18 heliports are being developed in the state, of which services have already commenced at 12. Areas including Gauchar, Srinagar, Chinyalisaur, Haldwani, Munsyari, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital and Almora have been connected through air services. While the state had only two heliports until 2022, the number has now risen to seven. The number of helipads has nearly doubled to 118.

With support from the central government, the ropeway network in Uttarakhand is being expanded through the Parvatmala Project. Ropeway projects from Gaurikund to Kedarnath and from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib will provide a new direction to tourism and pilgrimage in the state.

Prime Minister Modi ji has prioritised not only the Char Dham shrines but also the restoration and redevelopment of Uttarakhand's ancient temples. The Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham redevelopment projects, along with the Manaskhand Temple Circuit Mission, are excellent examples. These efforts have strengthened Uttarakhand's identity on the global spiritual tourism map.

Historic work is also being undertaken in the fields of water resources and healthcare. With central government support, work is underway on the Jamrani, Song and Lakhwar multipurpose projects, which will provide long-term benefits in irrigation, drinking water supply and energy generation. Construction of the AIIMS Satellite Centre at Kichha has begun. India's first heli-ambulance service has been launched at AIIMS Rishikesh, marking an innovative step in emergency healthcare services

Alongside these achievements, Uttarakhand has also advanced Prime Minister Modi's vision of a developed India. Our government has implemented the Uniform Civil Code, providing a new direction for the nation. We have taken several historic steps in areas including anti-cheating legislation, anti-conversion laws, land law reforms, investment promotion, women's empowerment, employment generation for youth and transparent governance.

Today, Uttarakhand is emerging not only as a centre of natural beauty and spiritual consciousness but also as a model of good governance, innovation and development.

The 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership represent not merely a political period but a story of the resurgence of India's self-confidence. It is the story of bringing hope into the lives of millions of poor people who, for the first time, felt that the government could reach their doorstep. It is the story of giving wings to the dreams of young people who recognised their opportunities in a new India. It is the story of dignity for women who have secured an equal place in the mainstream of development.
