Apple may hike iPhone prices next month, after Samsung and Google phone hikes

In recent months, Samsung has increased prices of its smartphones across categories amid memory chip shortages. Meanwhile, Google launched its Pixel 11 series this month with up to a Rs 14,000 price hike. Now, Apple is expected to follow in the same footsteps, with new iPhones launching with a significant price hike. 

Previously, it was anticipated that the iPhone 17 series could get a price hike in August. However, the prices are unchanged till now. Now, the latest reports suggest that instead of the iPhone 17, we could see price hikes with the iPhone 18 Pro series.

iPhone price hike in September

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is said to plan price hikes for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models during its launch next month. Alongside the new models, the predecessors, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could also see a price revision. 

It is suggested that the new iPhone models could get a $100 price hike during launch, which means iPhone 18 Pro could cost $1,199 (about Rs. 1,15,000). Therefore, in India, we could also see a price hike between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. Whereas iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17e could also see similar price increases.

However, Apple has not confirmed price hikes officially as of now, and we may have to wait until the new iPhone launch to confirm claims. Reports about an iPhone price hike have been circulating for weeks, but consumers should wait for the official launch for clarity. On the other hand, Apple has increased prices of iPhone 17 models in Japan, hinting that it may also hit other global markets soon. 

In addition, Apple is also expected to launch a foldable iPhone, which is said to cost more than $2000 at debut.
