Despite improvement in manufacturing activity, India's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) fell from 58.9 in September 20 to 55.4 in March 21, due to softer growth in production, fewer new orders, slower input buying and weakening employment due to rising COVID cases.
