Polling for the highly anticipated Madhya Pradesh assembly election concluded on November 17, with all eyes now on the crucial constituencies that hold the fate of prominent leaders from both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. The results of the 230-member legislative assembly election will be declared today, December 3.
The assembly poll features the ruling BJP, Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). However, the primary battleground remains between the BJP and the Congress. The BJP has fielded incumbent chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from the Budhni assembly constituency. Chouhan, seeking his fifth consecutive term as chief minister, faces a stiff challenge from actor-turned-politician Vikram Mastal, fielded by the Congress.
Mastal, who rose to fame with his portrayal of Hanuman in the popular TV serial 'Ramayan 2,' is banking on his charisma and connect with the masses to unseat the seasoned Chouhan.
