Over 11 lakh buyers shop at Snapdeal in first 16 hours of sale
Nearly 11 lakh buyers from over 2800 cities and towns across India made purchases on Sanpdeal in the first 16 hours of the Unbox Diwali sale.

Nearly 11 lakh buyers from over 2800 cities and towns acrossIndia made purchases on Sanpdeal in the first 16 hours of the Unbox Diwali sale,the e-tailer has said.The sale which started at midnight with 180 orders being booked per second gotbigger during the day as buyers used the national holiday to explore a plethoraof attractive deals.Trends from Day 1 of the sale reflect a phenomenal response from customersacross the country with the sales volume jumping six times of average volumesby 4pm on Day 1.48,000 brands in 782 categories were sold.Fastest delivery of the season wasunder an hour - An order for iPhone 5s placed at 7.20 am on 2nd October wasdelivered to the buyer in Gurgaon at 8.10am.Commenting on the sale so far, Saurabh Bansal, Vice President & Head CategoryManagement at Snapdeal said, "We are seeing consistent growth across allcategories, with overall 6X increase in volumes as compared to usual days. Thisis just the beginning and seeing the enthusiasmwith which our customers have responded, we are very confident ofsetting newbenchmarks this Diwali."With the start of Navratri, buyers resumed their purchase of real estate onSnapdeal - on Sunday, 12 apartments weresold in Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Noida and in Mumbai.The festive season shopping also extended to the automotive sector with 846Hero and TVS Suzuki bikes sold in the first 16 hours of sale.The rush to upgrade to latest electronics was witnessed in flat screen TVs,with nearly 5000 flat screen TVs sold in the first 16 hours. LG, Samsung, Sonyand Micromax TVs accounted for most of the sale in this segment.
