There has, of late, been a lot of talk about Pure Android. So, what is Pure Android and how is it different from 'impure' and Adulterated Android?

To understand this, you have to understand how Android works. Android is a mobile operating system created and maintained by Google. But it is also the code that, at its basic, is part of open source ecosystem.

This means anyone can take Android code and after adhering to some basic terms of conditions can modify it. The Android you get in Samsung, HTC or Xiaomi phones is actually Android modified so heavily that it doesn't resemble the Android that Google creates. The Pure Android, on the other hand, is the Android that looks more or less similar to how Google has made it. Motorola's Moto phones, for example, use Pure Android.

So which Android is better? It depends, actually, The modified version of Android often has more features - such as customisation options - but they also have unwanted applications bundled with it. The Pure Android, in contrast, is clutter-free. It works better for not-so-tech-savvy users.
