Biography

Naveen Jindal, chairman of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL), is both an industrialist and former MP. Born in 1970 and educated at the University of Texas at Dallas, he expanded JSPL into steel, power, and mining operations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He is best known for his legal fight that secured every Indian citizen’s right to fly the national flag, a landmark Supreme Court judgment. Under his leadership, JSPL built greenfield projects and invested in capacity growth and clean energy. His philanthropy includes founding O.P. Jindal Global University and supporting vocational training and sports development. Family governance is central to JSPL’s continuity. Jindal is honored for civic leadership, business sustainability, and his contributions to policy and industrial reform.
