Chinese company Xiaomi among top 5 smartphone manufacturers in India
Xiaomi has reached the pinnacle of its performance in the Indian smartphone industry.

Xiaomi hasreached the pinnacle of its performance in the Indian smartphone industry. TheChinese company has made it to the top 5 in terms of market share. It is thefirst time since its launch in 2014 that the company was able to crack aposition in the top five.
According toa new report by IDC, the Indian smartphone market has shown a year on yeargrowth of nearly 11 per cent. Nearly 30 million smartphones were sold betweenJuly to September. The current top position is held by Samsung, followed byLenovo, Micromax and then Xiaomi.

Earlierlast month, Xiaomi registered tremendous sales during the festive season,making the Redmi Note 3 the best selling online device in the country.According to the Chinese company, the phone sold 2.3 million units betweenMarch and September which translates to one device sold per 7 seconds.
The companyregistered double the amount of growth in comparison to the sales in theprevious quarter.
On one handthe company is seeing tremendous growth in India, on the other the Chinesecompany is losing ground in its home country. The company slipped three placesfrom the top position to the fourth position.
Since its first launch in the India, the companyhas shown a promising growth curve. The company has launched various new flagshipdevices in its home-country which won't be making way to the Indiansub-continent. The company will continue focusing on the budget segmentinstead.
