Biography

Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, has led the company’s transformation into a global powerhouse across autos, IT, finance, aerospace, and real estate. Born in 1955 and educated at Harvard, he became group MD in 1997 and chairman in 2012. He spearheaded acquisitions such as SsangYong in Korea and Reva Electric, championing early adoption of electric vehicles in India. Known for his charismatic leadership and social media influence—the “Anand Mahindra Effect”—he is a leading voice in industry and policy. Mahindra Foundation supports education and rural development.
