Tejas To Gaganyaan, India’s Indigenous Push Gaining Momentum: ISRO Chairman V Narayanan

ISRO Chairman V Narayanan said India’s journey in indigenous defence and space capabilities reflects remarkable progress over the last few decades. While ISRO’s role in the Tejas fighter aircraft was limited, he said the project is a major national achievement, highlighting the Indian Air Force’s large order as proof of the platform’s maturity. Narayanan said lessons from Tejas are being applied to the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission, where astronaut safety is paramount. He stressed that Gaganyaan is a national programme involving ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, the armed forces, industry, and academia, working together toward a common goal.
