We heard whispers about large-format mobile printers last year. And now they are already a reality. HP has released Officejet 100- a mobile printer that can print A4 pages on the fly. The printer is attractive to look at and HP has left no stone unturned in creating this masterpiece. The buttons are sturdy and the panels don't give the impression of anything being flimsy.

Why We Fell For It: Now printing need not be a task that has to wait till you are back in office.
The Officejet 100 is compact and lightweight, as it should be for a mobile machine and about as big as a big handbag. And if you are wondering whether this performs as well as its desk hugging bigger brothers, then the answer is yes, it does. The 100 fits in two regular size cartridges, one black and one colour. Together they squirt out superior prints in the best mode. Though it does take time under high DPI settings, the wait is worth it. The print is as clean as a whistle. There is no colour bleed nor is the sharpness lost.

Testing it further, we found it printing 14 pages per minute in draft black and eight pages in draft colour. Not bad for a mobile printer. You can print using a PC using USB or wireless using any Bluetooth-ready device such as a mobile phone or camera. Not only that, the 100 can even print without any power supply. A laptop like battery gets hooked the back of this printer to keep the printer running for three hours. At 2.3 kg with the battery, this printer is about as heavy as a regular laptop.

Compatible with both Mac and PC, this printer is a good option for roving professionals. It just might be the herald of many more good things to come. We are sure in the very near future we will see printers half the size of this one, printing colour prints with vibrant colours and deep blacks, just like this mobile machine does.
