Ski Safari (iOS, Android)
Rs 55, By Defiant Development
This is among the most addictive games we have played in a long time. Ski Safari makes you come back because every game is different and there is something new every time. This game does not try and get the better of you from the first second, there is always a second chance. The objective is to stay ahead of the avalanche and collect as many points as you can in the process. There are in-app purchases, but they are not necessary to continue playing.
Adrenaline Browser (iOS)
Free, By Valkyrie Computer Systems, Inc.
There are many good browsers for iOS, each with a USP of its own. This one is among the cleanest with a bottom address bar that gives all the real estate to the webpage. Users can also tag their favourite URLs on the homepage for one-touch access, and this is a rare feature for tablet browsers at the moment. Plus, you can add apps that will keep a tab on your expenses or shopping lists.
Figure (iOS)

There are many DJ apps available across platforms, but very few let you create music from scratch. This app lets you start with basic beats and keep adding more tweaks and mixes. It will help if you know a bit of music though, for we had no clue what we were doing. However, everything sounded great. You can record your works and also share it online.
MyScript Calculator (iOS, Android)
Free, By Visio Objects
We have seen all types of calculators. But this one is way different. So different that you can scribble any equation or problem on this app and it will do the calculations for you. Yes, it does get a bit confused if your 3 looks a bit like 5 and if you but a /instead of the divide symbol. But ask it to do a very complex equation with a couple of square roots and it won't have any problem giving you the solution in a jiffy. Recommended for adults and school going kids alike.
Strum (iOS)
Free, By Smule
How about making a music video of your own? Well, Strum lets you do this with minimum effort. All you have to do us shoot a 15-second video with your iPad, give it a filter with background music and voila it is ready to be posted online. The only drag here is that you have to limit the video to 15 seconds and that it has to be a single shot. But that is also a challenge that can bring out your creativity.
