Should I buy Apple iPhone 4S now?

I would like you to suggest whether I should buy the Apple iPhone 4S or wait for now.

Q: I would like you to suggest whether I should buy the Apple iPhone 4S or wait for now. I read somewhere that Apple will launch the next iPhone in a couple of months from now. Will Apple continue to offer support for the iPhone 4S? Will the price of the iPhone 4S come down? Ankush Chabra, on email

G&G: Every year, Apple brings a new iPhone to the market. This year, a new device is expected to be launched in September. We suggest that you to wait till then before buying an iPhone. First, the new iPhone will be better than the iPhone 4S. Secondly, knowing Apple, the company will start selling the 8GB variant of the iPhone 4S at a relatively lower price. As soon as the iOS 6 becomes available, you will be able to update the iPhone 4S as well.

Q: I had an iPad1 earlier and now the New iPad. But with both, watching movie songs in auto-play mode was not possible. After each song I have to click open the next song to watch it. Is there any way I can watch them on a continuous play mode? JRS Reddy , on email

G&G: Mr Reddy himself found a blog post that had solved the problem. Here is what Vinh Khoa suggests in his blog http://blog.vinhkhoa.com: "The first thing we need to do, of course, is to copy movies onto your iPad. If you are managing music and videos manually, you can just drag the videos directly into your iPad. Once copied, they will be sitting under the Movies section. Next, change the media kind of these movies to TV Show. Click on the Video tab > enter a name for the show. You can enter other info on this page as well if you want. Once you close the box, iTunes will update your movies and move them to the TV Shows section. Your videos can now be played continuously! There is one more thing you might want to do. By default the iPad orders them by filename. Depending on your movie filenames, this order may or may not be the order you want. To specify your movies in a particular order, you can do so by setting a track number for each of them."

Q: I was stupid enough to lose my Windows XP password for my backup PC. How I can recover the password without having to reload Windows. Is there any software that can be used at boot and recover password Kritin Kapoor, on email

G&G: This is a tricky situation. You could try and restore the system to a point where you had a password that you remember. But if you have had just one password all along, this might not work. We found this useful: goo.gl/UuWFw

Q: I own a Samsung CDMA device. Unknowingly, I have added a couple of numbers to my rejected list. Whenever these contacts try and call me, the call automatically gets rejected. I have tried deleting the number from contacts and changing the name but calls continue to be rejected. Can this problem be fixed or will I have to buy a new phone? Simmi Kaushik, Delhi

G&G: This is not a issue major enough for you to buy a new device. Just go to the main menu of your phone, followed by call settings. If you will scroll through the call menu, you will come across 'rejected list'. Open the list. The phone might prompt for password and you can set a four digit password that you can remember. After that delete the numbers/contacts that have been added to the rejected list and then press the save option.

Q: Why is there so much buffering when I try to watch YouTube videos on my smart television? I have a 512kbps connection to which the TV is wirelessly connected through Wi-FI. Sainath S, Bangalore

G&G: If you are using the YouTube app on your TV, remember that it is made to show content for a large screen. Some of these apps only look for HD content which takes ages to play over any broadband network that is under 1 Mbps speed. In fact, the ideal bandwidth for a smart TV is 2 Mbps and above, which is still quite rare in most parts of the country. The way around this is to use the TV browser (if your smart television is smart enough to have one) to open YouTube and watch videos so that you can stream lower resolution videos which will play faster.
