Not the best looking smartphone from
Motorola , the Atrix 2 looks huge and feels bulky. A 4.3-inch capacitive screen with crisp resolution dominates the front with the regular set of four capacitive touch keys (as found in most Androids). The textured back has a plastic feel and touts an 8MP camera that captures sharp and colourful images during daylight and about average results during low light. We checked the camera setting box and it showed Widescreen where images will be captured at 6MP to match the screen. The phone captures full HD video, but a good memory card is a must for this.
Inside the broad body is the dual-core processor aimed at offering great performance. But the processor clocked at 1GHz feels a bit outdated in front of the recently launched Sony Xperia S with 1.5GHz dual core processor. The overall performance and speed to launch the app, browse to web or even access Play Store was smooth. Typing was really very easy over the onscreen keypad in portrait mode. Motorola has overlaid the MotoBlur user interface, but that doesn't hide the outdated OS. Yes, yet again we have a high-end smartphone running Android v2.3 with the promise to be upgraded to
Ice-Cream Sandwich. The battery backup was relatively better as compared to other smartphones as it lasted a day and a half on average use.
