Stellar Pinnacle from Spice
is a phablet with a largish 5.3-inch display and curved edges. For a change, this is one design that does not resemble the Samsung Galaxy series.
The touch response is good, but the 960x540p is a bit too low for the big display and lacks clarity at times. Below are three capacitive touch keys that look different and illuminate only when tapped. There is also a dedicated camera key, something that is becoming extinct in Android smartphones. It launched the camera and captured images only when the device was unlocked. Overall, this device has good build quality, but the wide screen and 196 grams weight make it a bit uncomfortable to handle.
Thanks to the dual-core processor, we could easily browse the web and download apps from the Play Store. It smoothly handled heavy graphic games like Shadowgun and there was no lag while playing. The onscreen keyboard was superb, but there was a slight lag when many apps were running in the background. The Stellar Pinnacle packs in an 8MP rear camera loaded with settings such as HDR and other regular modes you would find in a point and shoot. But don't expect outstanding results as we noticed noise in almost all images captured with this camera. For video calling Spice has added a 5MP front camera with HDR setting. Even here, the results were just about average. Video recording doesn't have anything worth mentioning. This dual SIM phablet has a decent 2,550 mAh battery that gave us a day and a half.
