What is your view on interest rate movements?
The central bank’s position is an important consideration. Currently, inflation is on the rise and the government is making attempts to rein it in. In the short term interest rates will be volatile.
Do you anticipate interest rates to fall over the next 3-6 months?
Going the way inflation is headed, this may not be the case.
Worst mistake small investors make
When the markets surge, most small investors enter equity, forgetting the debt and fixed-income category. It would be prudent to stick to asset allocation and follow it with discipline.
Advice to small investors
Don’t have a bias towards a particular asset class. Diversify and have goals around which financial plans are structured, and monitor them regularly.
