LENOVO K900
Rs 32,990

FEATURES
>> 5.5-inch screen, 13MP camera, 2GB RAM

The K900 would have been unremarkable but for the 2GHz dual-core Atom processor in its core, which has received positive reviews. The phone is thin at 6.9mm, while the design is sharp and square, with a mix of stainless steel and polycarbonate. The Gorilla glass display has a 1080p resolution and 400ppi pixel density. But, Android (4.2) has been mangled by a custom user interface that might not be to the liking of stock Android fans.

SAMSUNG GALAXY MEGA 5.8
Rs 24,900

FEATURES
>> 5.8-inch screen, 8GB internal, MicroSD slot

Samsung's penchant for releasing bigger phones has culminated in the Mega series (5.8 inches & 6.3 inches). While the size is a matter for debate, the specs are not. The design is typical of the Korean firm (curved edges, single physical key, plastic back panel) and the TFT LCD display has 540x960p resolution. It runs on a 1.4Ghz dual-core processor and 1.5GB RAM. You also get a middling 8MP camera, 2600 mAh battery and slots for two microSIM cards.

HUAWEI MEDIAPAD VOGUE 7
PRICE NOT AVAILABLE

FEATURES
>> Capacitive 1024x600 display, MicroSDcard slot

Seven-inch tablets are as common among gadgets as, well, 7-inch tablets. And yet, here is another one, but with 3G capability as well. This makes it a interesting. The MediaPad is powered by Huawei's own 1.2GHz quad-core processor married to 1GB RAM and offers 8GB of internal storage. It also sports a 3MP rear camera (recording videos at 1080p resolution at up to 30fps). You also get Android 4.1 with Huawei's proprietary Emotion user interface 1.5 on top.

ACER ASPIRE P3
Rs 49,999

FEATURES
>> micro-USB-to-USB cable to charge keyboard

The P3 is fashioned out of aluminum and is boxy with blunt edges. The 0.4-inch thickness is impressive as you get a USB 3.0 connection as well. The keyboard is a neat fit but limits screen angles. But, that's okay as the IPS 1,366x768p resolution is good on a 11.6 inch display. The P3 comes with an Intel dual-core Core i3 (1.4GHz) processor bundled with 4GB RAM, 120GB SSD (Intel made) and Intel HD 4000 for graphics. Acer claims the P3's 5,280mAh battery can last six hours on moderate use. The Windows 8 OS also comes with a lot of bloatware from the box.

MAHINDRA VERITO VIBE
Rs 5.63 lakh (base D2 variant)

Mahindra comes to the under-four metres club with Verito Vibe - a compact SUV, the Verito with the boot sliced away. The rest is similar or the same as its parent. The heart is the Verito's 1.5-litre dCi engine, tuned to churn out 64bhp power and 160Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency is about 13kpl in city traffic and 15.5kpl on highways. You get an efficient diesel engine and a bit more space than a hatchback. A 1.4-litre petrol variant is also available.
