The AE2 has been one of
Bose's popular headphones for the past couple of years, primarily due to the quality of the hardware and superiority of the audio. The AE 2W takes this legacy forward by making this device Bluetooth in step with the times. The Bluetooth is added with the help of a small protrusion outside the left ear cup.
This protrusion allows you to switch on and pair the Bluetooth as well as control the volume. There is a microphone somewhere there so that you can make calls when paired to the phone. This bit is actually plugged to the headphone with a 3.5mm jack and can come off in a second. This also means you can convert the AE2w to the traditional wired AE2 in a second.
Long hours of listening is not much of an issue with this device as the ear cups are made of supple leather and you also don't feel heat inside them after an album or two. With Bose the sound quality is always spectacularly good. This one sounds the same when it is wireless or wired and that is quite an achievement. We could hardly make out any loss in audio quality, if at all there was any. This superb audio quality is also on show while you are making calls.
