EAFT Technologies has packed into their tablet something that touches a chord with a lot of people. Its D90T tablet is the only mobile device that comes preloaded with a WorldSpace radio application which will let users access the popular music service that stopped beaming to Indian homes a few years back.
The most striking thing about this 9.7-inch tablet, however, is its display. The 1024x768p capacitive touch IPS panel is very crisp and the images on it crystal clear. A display this good is clearly a rarity for a tablet in this price bracket. The device has a plasticky back with just a camera and flash. The power button is on the top, while the left panel is peppered with micro-HDMI and USB ports as well as the volume controls.
The tablet runs Android Ice-Cream Sandwich and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Dual Core Cortex A9 processor which is decently powerful. We had no issues with the tablet except that the 8000 mAH battery, which is pretty good for this price bracket, seems to drain while on standby. If you power off the device it can last up to eight hours.
You can download apps that give you WorldSpace content and there are some service providers who have also tied up with the company, but this is the only device on which you can hear the service offline too. As is obvious, this means the service is not live. Users can select channels of their choice and download entire content segments. There segments are updated frequently and at any given time there is about 72 hours of free content available. The app is easy to use too with a radio-like volume dial and flip through channel list. But we are not sure, this is enough. The service is free for a few months.
