The Microsoft Wedge keyboard is a really stylish piece of equipment. But it is also very sturdy and minimalist. With two AAA cells loaded into the small stand in the rear, the keyboard has a nice incline that makes it easy to type on.
A very important part of this accessory is its hard rubber cover, which protects the keys from spills and dust among other things. When the cover is locked in place it shuts down the keyboard, thus saving power. Take it off, and it can be used as a stand for the tablet. However, with the cover the entire package becomes a bit heavy.
There are on/off buttons and the keyboard is ready and discoverable as soon as the cover is off. Since this is going to be paired more with tablets than laptops, there are dedicated keys for the Windows 8 charms menu instead of function keys. Though there are no extra keys or even a millimetre of extra space, the keyboard is not small or cramped by any means. The accuracy levels were very good when we typed on it. The keys also have the right amount of travel and are not stubborn like many of the external keyboards.
One good thing about this keyboard is that it is not limited for use on Windows devices. We used it with a iPad, though quite a few of the keys had nothing to do there.
If you are looking for just a good typing accessory for any tablet, then look no further.
