Review: Nokia Lumia 1520 is a perfect Windows tablet

The phablet has the signature Lumia design as found on its predecessors - Lumia 920 and 1020.

Specs: 6-inch display; Windows Phone 8, 20MP camera; 2.2GHz quad core processor; 2GB RA M; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth; nano SI M, 32GB internal storage; 3400 mAh battery; 209 grams

The Lumia 1520 not only marks Nokia's entry into the growing phablet market but it also is the first phablet running the Windows Phone operating system. The phablet has the signature Lumia design as found on its predecessors - Lumia 920 and 1020. It has a six-inch display with 1920x1080 pixel resolution that offers good visibility when outdoors. The device is 3.36 inches wide and 6.4 inches tall, which makes it uncomfortable to hold. It cannot be operated with a single hand or carried in your pockets. The user interface and the default apps remain the same. Nokia has added its PureView camera technology to this phablet. It is powered by a 20MP camera and the default camera app is replaced by Nokia Camera. There is also a specialised Nokia Pro Cam app that allows us to quickly adjust settings for the flash, white balance, shutter speed and brightness. Focus can be adjusted manually. The images are sharp and clear, but the image quality isn't impressive in low-light conditions. The Lumia 1520 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and is paired with 2GB RAM. It handled graphic intensive apps with ease and can be used by gamers, too. This is backed up with a good battery as it lasted us a day with average use.

-Bright display and superb camera

-Touch keys for navigation

-Too big to slide into the pocket
