Rarely do we come across tablets that look different from the crowd. Lenovo's Yoga 8 is one. Inspired by the original Yoga machine, it can, for one, stand in several positions. Framed in a polished aluminium and chrome casing, it looks beautiful yet sturdy.
There is a rounded edge at the bottom that has the power key on one side with the 3.5 mm jack on the other. Apart from holding the tablet or laying it flat, there is a built-in kickstand that allows different position placements. It can be adjusted at viewing angles between 30 and 80 degrees. Or it can be placed flat on a surface and the kickstand used to raise it from one end. I enjoyed the former position of the tablet while watching multimedia content, and the latter for typing. In the former position, there isn't any need of a stand while connecting to a Bluetooth keyboard. But the beautiful design is let down by average display. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 but comes with a custom UI design, which looks messy. The performance is just about average with lag when multiple apps are running in the background.
Bag it or junk it: Just about average. Consider Google Nexus 7
