Samsung NX300Price: Rs 47,900 (With 18-55mm lens)

The Samsung NX300 is not much different from the NX1000 we reviewed earlier this year. Except for the screen which is Activ Matrix OLED and not TFT and tiltable instead of fixed, this camera looks a lot like the NX1000. We decide to focus the review on the remote connectivity features of this camera.
The NX300 is Wi-Fi enabled and can connect with smart phones and tablet that have downloaded the Samsung Smart Camera app. In the camera's Wi-Fi you can select what you want to do with the link - use it for a remote viewfinder or moves file to or from a smart phone. Using the remote viewfinder we were able to click picture using the phone, but without zoom or even auto focus. The camera responded instantly to the click on the phone, though it took a while for the app to recover. We used the app also to copy pictures from the camera to the phone and this was smooth and fast. This is a great feature to have for people who need to send pictures off in a hurry.

With the right light detail is not a problem
There is also the option of uploading directly to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa or SkyDrive. You can use the touchscreen to key in the passwords. You can also use the Wi-Fi to share images to a laptop for backup or to showcase on a larger screen using All-Share. All these features make the NX300 a very usable connected camera.
The user interface is smooth and very easy to navigate thanks to the zoom ring near the shutter button. The Fn button gives the additional options in most cases and there is a lot to choose here.

It can click some stunners too
We tested the camera with an 18-55mm lens and the results were quite good. We were particularly impressed by the Macro mode and the low light modes of the camera. Compared to other mirrorless cameras we have seen in recent days, this one does lack a bit of detail. But that is something you will feel only if the pictures are being blown up beyond a point.
The NX300 is a decent option for those who value connectivity over stellar camera performance.
