Photo: ReutersMercedes-Benz India on Monday announced several organizational changes in its key marketing and sales divisions.
Santosh Iyer has been promoted as the new head of crucial 'After-Sales & Retail Training' functions for the Three Pointed Star in India. Santosh, currently the vice president for marketing, shall take on the new appointment from January 1, 2016 and will be part of the Mercedes Benz India Board of Management.
The current vice president for after sales Devdutta Chandavarkar has been promoted to take the position of Director, after-sales at Mercedes-Benz Middle East and Levant (MBMEL) and would be based out of Dubai.
"Mercedes-Benz is providing newer responsibilities and novel opportunities to its employees' with an approach to promote internal talent by giving them new opportunities to prove their excellence," said Roland Folger, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
Santosh Iyer has been instrumental for Mercedes-Benz India's success in reinforcing the brand image and communicating the dynamic face of the company to customers.
Under his stewardship, Mercedes-Benz India achieved No. 1 position in the brand equity in India and it also leads the luxury car pack in India much ahead of its rivals like Audi, BMW and JLR.
In addition to the above changes, the company has split it marketing corporate communications function. Amit Thete, who is currently heading the event communication division, will now take care of the marketing & CRM function. And Shekhar Das Chowdhury will be heading corporate communications for the brand.
