Final Decision On Shipping Corporation Of India Demerger To Be Cleared This Week

A big roadblock to the disinvestment of the Shipping Corporation of India could be cleared this week. Sources have told Business Today Television that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs will announce its decision on the demerger of the company this week. The disinvestment of the state-owned SCI hinges on the demerger of its non-core activities into a separate company called Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Limited. The demerged entity will hold the ‘Shipping House’ in south Mumbai as well as the 44-acre Maritime Training Institute in Powai.
