Hurun India's Unicorn List : India Adds 11 New Startups

BTTV’s Correspondent Aastha Chopra spoke to Anas Junaid, Founder of Hurun India, about the latest Unicorns Report. This year, India welcomed 11 new unicorns, including AI. Tech, which achieved the milestone in less than two years. Sectors like fintech and SaaS continue to dominate, but fresh areas are gaining ground. New energy, space tech, AI, and AgriTech are now contributing significantly, with seven clean energy companies and five space startups making it to the cheetah and unicorn list. The report also highlights the surge in active investors, growing from 188 in 2021 to over 1,000 today, with family offices playing a larger role. Overall unicorn valuations have jumped 80% to more than ₹5 lakh crore, underlining India’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
