Isha Ambani's Reliance Retail has made its largest acquisition till date. Picking up the entire stake in Metro Cash & Carry's Indian operations for Rs 2,850 crore rupees. The deal considerably strengthens RIL's dominant position in the domestic retail sector. What it gives Reliance Retail is access to a wide network of Metro India stores located in prime locations across key cities, a large base of registered kiranas and other institutional customers, strong supplier network and some of the global best practices implemented by METRO in India.
