
RP–Sanjiv Goenka Group Chairman Sanjiv Goenka has announced a ₹15,800 crore capital expenditure plan in West Bengal, focusing on energy, education and healthcare infrastructure. Speaking at the Business and Industry Conclave 2025 in Kolkata, Goenka credited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s decisive leadership for enabling rapid investments, noting that the group has already invested ₹26,500 crore during her tenure. The flagship project is a ₹12,000 crore, 5,000 MWh energy storage facility, expected to be among India’s first of its kind, aimed at sourcing 50% of Kolkata’s power from renewables. The group will also invest around ₹1,000 crore to expand education capacity and build a world-class hospital by January 2027.
