Billionaire Cyrus Mistry's death in a road accident in September shocked the entire country. The 54-year-old, who was sitting in the rear seat, was not wearing the seat belt, a safety feature that could well have saved his life. According to Section 194B of the Motor Vehicle Act seat belts are a must for all seats in a four-wheeler. But many remain either ignorant of the law that mandates the use of rear seat belts or defies it. The Delhi Traffic Police first launched a special campaign to spread awareness about seat belts in the middle of September. More than 100 people were fined then.
