Amta Assembly Election 2026

Polling for the AMTA Assembly seat will take place in the second phase on April 29, 2026.

Vote counting and the declaration of results for the AMTA Assembly seat, along with all constituencies of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, will be held on May 4, 2026.

In the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021, the AMTA seat was won by AITC. The winning candidate, Sukanta Kumar Paul, secured 102445 votes. The runner-up was from BJP, whose candidate Debtanu Bhattacharya received 76240 votes.

In the previous election in AMTA, Sukanta Kumar Paul secured victory as a candidate from AITC. They received a total of 102445 votes, accounting for a vote share of 49.1%.

In the 2021 election for the AMTA seat, AITC candidate Sukanta Kumar Paul won with 102445 votes. They defeated BJP candidate Debtanu Bhattacharya by a margin of 26205 votes. Debtanu Bhattacharya received 76240 votes in total.

In the 2021 election for the AMTA seat, the runner-up was BJP candidate Debtanu Bhattacharya. They were defeated by AITC candidate Sukanta Kumar Paul. Debtanu Bhattacharya secured a total of 76240 votes, losing by a margin of 26205 votes.

The West Bengal Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) has a total of 294 seats. Public representatives are elected directly.

In the West Bengal Assembly Elections held in 2021, AITC won the most number of seats. AITC won a total of 214 seats. The seat count for other parties was as follows: BJP (77), OTH (2)
