Reliance Communication (RCom) on Monday became the first
telecom service provider to launch
3G services in Jammu & Kashmir.
Showcasing the 3G mobile telephony at a press conference, RCom J&K Circle Head (Wireless Business) Ataul Haque announced launch of the services in J&K.
"The launch of the Reliance 3G is an integral part of the our vision 2015 of creating a wireless J&K built upon the affordable 3G for all platform", Haque told reporters on Monday.
"Personalisation of services, simplification of tarrifs and a content rich portfolio on the best in class 3G wireless network will enable reliance customers to get a much superior 3G service experience, significantly differentiated from other in the marketplace", he said.
With the 3G rollout, RCom will offer 3G services to customers in Jammu, demonstrating its all round execution and innovation capabilities commercially by next week, Haque added.
The launch of the 3G has been approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Defence Ministry under the security guidelines.
"RCom has rolled out 3G services in a record time of 100 days within receiving 3G spectrum. Rs 33 crores has been spent on the installation of 3G services in J&K", he said.
RCom will launch its 3G services across the other telecoms circles by March, he said.
