HTC One (M8)

The HTC One (2013) exited the megapixel war by introducing an UltraPixel sensor that can capture more light for better quality images. The One (M8) packs in two cameras. While one remains the same as of the last year, the other scans the scene and provides depth.

Nokia Lumia 1020

Nokia Lumia 1020
The Lumia 1020 has a 41MP sensor, but it doesn't capture images at this resolution. It captures images either at 7728 x 4354 pixel image (34MP) in the 16:9 mode or a 7152 x 5368 pixel image (38MP) in the 4:3 mode. One should shoot using the Nokia Pro camera app. This special app is simple to use and allows customisation to a great extent. It has a transparent box at the top centre comprising six camera adjustments - flash, white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation.

Sony is gearing up to launch the Xperia Z2 in India. The focus of the phone will be its camera. It features a 20.7MP sensor capable of capturing images at a maximum resolution of 5248 x 3936 pixels. It has a sensor size of1/2.3inch and is equipped with features such as touch focus, image stabilization, Panorama, etc.

The 8 MP camera on the iPhone 5s comes with a 15 per cent larger sensor than the predecessor which captures bigger pixels. measuring 1.5 microns. It has got a f/2.2 aperture. A white LED and an amber LED onboard work with intelligent software algorithms to adjust the flash intensity and color temperature.

The new flagship from Samsung, the Galaxy S5 touts a 16MP camera that can capture images at a maximum resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels. It has other features including auto focus, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, HDR, etc.
