Let us be practical, not all people can afford a
high-end LED television . That does not mean you cannot afford an
LED . Take the AOC 21-inch (54.6cm) Full HD LED TV, for instance. It looks like a computer monitor and is thankfully priced like one too. This is no giant screen, for 21 inches is still good enough for small households on a budget. This TV is ultra slim with the ports on the left side and the controls on the right. The remote is full-feature and there are separate source buttons for HDMI, USB and so on-hard to find even in top-end TVs. There are no smart features here, but there is USB movie and loads of connectivity options, including one with a PC. The picture and audio controls let you customise the picture, which we found a bit too heavy on the colour on SD signals. In HD, the picture is crisp and clear. But make sure your TV is set up at a height not much above or below the line of sight as the vertical viewing angles are quite narrow.
The media player is easy to use and reads pictures, video and music files with ease. There is not much delay in getting even large files started and the arrow keys let you fast-forward and rewind. There are dedicated media buttons below to play/pause and skip to another file. The audio is loud and clear, good enough for the screen size. Extras include zoom and sleep buttons.
So if you are looking for a smallish LED TV for your home, office or shop, AOC seems like a decent option.
