Posco's roadblocks

1. June 2005 The Orissa government and POSCO sign a MoU for setting up a $12-billion steel plant.

2. June 2007 Orissa seeks the environment ministry's nod for granting 1,253 hectares of forest land to POSCO.

3. July 2010 A four-member committee examines the issues relating to transfer of forest land.

4. August 2010 The project is put on hold citing violation of environment and forest laws by POSCO.

5. Jan 2011 Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh grants conditional clearance to the project.
