WHO SHOULD INVEST IN IT?

This large- and mid-cap diversified equity fund invests across sectors in line with BSE 200 Index, with a bias for large caps but not exclusively focused on them. This fund follows a flexible stock selection and targets the same sector weights as found in its benchmark, with some difference in sector allocation.

The fund is consistent with higher than average returns, lower risk and a well-diversified portfolio, which makes it an attractive long-term investment. In 2011, it was able to check the fall in returns compared to the category average and the benchmark.

Mahesh PatilFund manager Mahesh Patil attributes this performance to bottom-up stock selection.

MEET THE FUND MANAGER

Fund manager Mahesh Patil took over in 2005 and in 2006 the fund began beating the category average. Patil broadly targets the same sector weights as the benchmark but there have been the deviations on account of market action.
