WHO SHOULD INVEST IN IT?
The fund has had a great run for a number of years. It handled the downturn of 2008 very well and despite the change in market catching the fund manager off guard in 2009, it steadied to impress that year.

The fund is currently bullish on the agricultural sector as the gain in food productivity is to be a critical focus area in India. The number of stocks range between 68 and 83. Allocation to a single stock does not exceed 5 per cent, barring a few largecaps.

The portfolio is actively churned and turnover ratio is among the highest in the category. Over the five and ten-year periods, it features among the top five performers. It's a definite candidate for a long-term acquisition.

MEET THE FUND MANAGER
Fund manager Apoorva Shah's strategy results in a rigorously diversified offering that he believes captures the different segments of the economy. Even so, he adopts a predominant buy-and-hold strategy for the smaller fare.
