You can't stop fighting with your neighbour and the only way to reach an agreement is to go to court. However, this will consume a lot of time and money. A better option is to walk into the district mediation centre. These centres are a joint initiative of the Government of Delhi and the state high court, and are run by the Delhi Dispute Resolution Society.

Currently, there are nine mediation centres in the city. The centres provide the litigants with a mediator, usually a lawyer, retired judge or eminent social worker, who help the parties to resolve the issue.

As the complainants do not need to hire a lawyer or do much paperwork, the cost and trouble gets reduced significantly. Also, these centres resolve both post- and pre-litigation cases.
