CALL OF JUAREZ: THE CARTEL
CALL OF JUAREZ: THE CARTEL
(Price: Rs 2,450)

The Cartel is nothing like the usual Call of Juarez title. The game is located in the current world where you get to play one of three agents from different agencies fighting the drug cartel. From the beginning these agents distrust each other and it grows as the game progresses. You can play alone or with friends in co-op mode. This game has annoying glitches. Frame-rate drops are common and the graphics look poor. The aiming goes for a toss at times and the non-availability of a real map puts you off your path many times.

However, the story is quite compelling. You get phone calls from your sources during missions and you can be the target of suspicion. You can pick up objects during missions but if you are caught by your partners, it only increases their doubts, so be careful when you do this. There are a few side missions in the game that have no conclusion. So it's better to stay on your path to success than to gain fame.

Fire fights bring back the fun for a while. But be warned, the gun recoil is irritating. Shooting down helicopters and other moving objects is a hard task; you end up missing the target even you've aimed correctly. In both single play and co-op, your allies can revive you if you get shot down. It's a good thing to keep them close when you are caught in thick fire. You also get to drive cars, upgrade guns and launch bazookas at foes. The online mode is fun but the glitches are common there too.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is nothing like the movie or the book. Instead it is a third-person shooter of sorts, only you hold a magic wand instead of a gun. Moving on, there isn't much happening in the game. Most of the time, Hermione is casting spells to open doors and gates and you have to be on the defence while she does that. The same goons you killed a while back keep reappearing to be shot down-again. The sound is good but thsi doesn't help much as the game tumbles into inanity after a while. And heading south, it doesn't look back. The game time isn't lengthy either. In a matter of hours, the complete game is over and you are sitting and wondering what was it all about. The fun element dies soon and the cut scenes cannot revive it. The final version of Harry Potter seems like it was made in a hurry without any real derivative from the original book.
