The Nerf Retaliator is a high-spring action semi-automatic foam dart gun that can shoot darts upto 50 ft with great accuracy. It comes with a 12-dart quick reload clip, a barrel extension with top and bottom tactical rails, a new stock, assault grip and 12 new elite darts inside the box. Put the pieces together and you have a long-range, soft-ammo weapon ready to fire.
Popping foam darts at co-workers never much attention but the Retaliator is different as it shoots darts with a lot more speed and power. One downside of the power is the inconsistent aim - darts sometimes fly perfectly straight, sometimes corkscrew, depending on the distance they travel. Addressing this, Nerf, for the first time, has incorporated a rifled barrel and a new heavy-tip dart design to improve users' accuracy. But this takes away some of the speed of the flight of the dart, limiting its range.
The colour scheme looks better than the typical yellow and orange N-Strike series. The blue and white colors on the Retaliator can also be clubbed with many different attachments from other Nerf blaster lines.
Retailing in India at for Rs 1,575, Retaliator can prove to be loads of fun, if handled responsibly. If you are surrounded by good humoured peers, whip it out and have fun at home or at the office. But a word of advice - never ever aim it at anyone's eyes or other sensitive body parts.
