Kotak Securities launches trading account for women

To encourage women to invest in the stock market, Kotak Securities on Thursday launched 'Kotak Pearl', a special trading account designed for women.

'Kotak Pearl' comes with 50% brokerage cash back on cash market trades for the first three months, low brokerage of 0.01% on Kotak Gold ETF transactions and discounted account opening fee of only Rs 500.

According to Kotak Securities, investing trends indicate that, women not only trade for longer periods of time but they also show larger activity as compared to men. These women who trade are also not shy of exposure to derivative instruments, the penetration of which rivals that of men.

B Gopkumar, executive vice-president and head broking, Kotak Securities says, "Women have always been in control of and good at budgeting. Today we see many successful women in professional fields and entrepreneurial set ups contributing significantly to economic growth and development. Although they are financially independent, all they need is sound and friendly advice. With the launch of 'Kotak Pearl', we are committed to providing the right guidance by giving timely insights and providing a seamless trading experience".

Along with the special benefits, the account will allow women investors to enjoy the regular offerings of Kotak Securities such as online trading platform KEAT ProX, mobile trading application Kotak Stock Trader, expert research recommendations and a customer service desk which can service in 10 different languages.

After the launch of 'Kotak Pearl', Kotak Securities becomes the first broking firm to offer a special trading account for women investors.
