In Mumbai, heavy rainfall resulted in catastrophic landslides. About 207 people have lost their lives. In the Eastern suburb of Chembur, 21 people were killed by a wall collapse. Vikhroli, where a landslide damaged several homes led to the loss of lives of 10 people. The rainfall inundated a water purification plant that left a part of the city without drinking water.
Karnataka has witnessed heavy rainfall since 22nd July. 19 people have died and three people were missing from flood affected regions of Karnataka. According to officials, the Indian Navy has rescued around hundred in Karnataka.
Heavy monsoon rains had a great impact on Goa . Due to floods , roads and bridges were damaged. A landslide also occurred which led to the derailment of two trains.
Heavy monsoon rainfall triggered floods and landslides in the state of Himachal Pradesh. In Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh many people were found missing and 6 dead bodies were found after the landslide. People were rescued by the teams from India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) . The Manjhi river has been flooded which caused major damage destroying 28 homes.
Due to landslides in Bangeshwar, roads were blocked around Chamoli which resulted in the collapse of a house leading to the death of three family members.
7,587 people have been affected in districts of Assam because of floods and 110 have lost their lives. The most damaged district is Bongaigaon with 13 roads and four bridges destroyed. About 230 hectares of crops were affected by rainfall and floods.
