The Maserati marvel

Powered by a monster engine, Maserati's Quattroporte S is all set to take Indian roads by storm, all for a mere Rs 1.37 crore. R Pallav takes a look.

HIGH FIDELITY
Running completely on voice control and powered by exclusively designed Bose surround speakers, the multimedia features a high resolution 7" TFT screen for satellite navigation maps in the dashboard and a centrally mounted screen powered by a DVD player in the rear. The climate control feature deflects dew and the seats come fitted with heating and massage options.

CUSTOM MADE
You can opt for a wood finish set in rosewood, mahogany and vavona. Alternatively, you can choose a black piano or blue laquered finish. The front and rear seats done up in double stitched supple Poltrona leather are customisable to the colour of your choice. These come fitted with wooden drop down tables. While the roof can be lined in beige, grey and black Alcantara, the steering wheel can also be set in wood trims, leather or piano black finish.

WHEELER DEALER
Exploiting the brilliance of Italian brake-master Brembo, the car's 360mm brake discs draw strength from a cast iron braking surface and smoothness from an aluminium hub. The Skyhook system detects movements on all four wheels and adjusts the dampers which in turn helps in absorbing bumps on the road. This system features a software with two modes- the 'normal' mode perfect for a gentle ride and the 'sport' mode for rally driving.

LIGHT FANTASTIC
Adorning Maserati's trident-shaped logo, the aerodynamic nose comprises of vertical slats in the front grille. The LED lights are powered to automatically track the movements of the steering wheel so that the beam points to the inside of a curve. Owing to light sensors, the eco-friendly headlights automatically turn 'on' and 'off' according to ambient light. Now that's technology!
